Birth of a Movement - The Story of
William Monroe Trotter
Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Rice Media Center
This is a must see at the Rice Media Center on March 1. William Trotter was a Black man who demonstrated the power of one to make a difference. A contemporary of W.E.B. Dubois, he worked to ban the showing of the racist movie Birth of a Nation (not the recent one). Rice University Prof. Jenifer Bratter will be part of the panel discussion that follows. Reception begins at 6:00p.m., movie to follow. We all need this inspiration now, especially our young people.
