2017 sUMMER JOBS PROGRAM
An ‘Earn While You Learn’ Opportunity

Hire Houston Youth’s city summer jobs program is accepting applications from February 13 – March 20, 2017.  City departments are providing opportunities for youth to earn while they learn how to serve the residents of the nation’s 4th largest city.  Most positions are for 32 hours per week at $8.00 per hour.  Youth may apply for opportunities in various city departments including Parks and Recreation, Library, Health and Human Services, Information Technology, Fire, City Council, or other opportunities within a certain category, such as General Office Intern.  Successful applicants will receive job readiness training, a career development plan, and a career coach.
Eligible youth must be between the ages of 16 and 21 by June 12th and live in the City of Houston.  Opportunities will be available in a wide variety of city departments. Applications will be accepted online at www.houstontx.gov/summerjobs between February 13 and March 20, 2017.
