GHFC Scholarship Program
Scholarships are awarded to a small number of students every year. Our goal is to help college-bound students with a financial need who have demonstrated a commitment to their schools and communities.

The Greater Houston Frontiers Club (GHFC) dares students to dream big, and never stop. We not only offer education-based scholarship to make those dreams a reality, but we award students for service and leadership achievements, as well. Our scholarship program was created to benefit deserving high school graduating minority students that attend school in Harris County and there are no citizenship requirements. Since the GHFC Scholarship Program's inception in 1980, many talented students have received scholarship assistance from this organization.

The GHFC Scholar isn’t necessarily class valedictorian (though s/he can be!). We look for a good all-around student who is dedicated to his/her community, has a strong sense of service, and who demonstrates a strong work ethic across the board. Only students of the highest character will be considered.

As a part of the scholarship process, we’ll ask you to complete several questions and write an essay that shares more about who you are. A great first step in the application process is to collect all of your work, volunteering information, academic achievements and honors/awards. As you prepare your essay, you’ll need to request information from outside resources, so start early and save your results until you are ready to submit the completed application.

We award scholarships to students who will be enrolled as full-time freshman with a minimum of 12 semester hours at an accredited four-year institution, or to students who are enrolled as a freshman in an accredited two year community, technical institution with a minimum enrollment of 6 semester hours.

Four-year College or University Scholarships

The $1,000 scholarships are payable in a single installment. Scholarships will be paid upon proof of registration (official class schedule) in an accredited four-year college or university.
