Beyond Scared Straight: A Teen Court Experience NAACP Sat. March 11. Limited to 1st 50 students who register

  Greetings, On Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:00 A.M-5:00 P.M at the High School for Law and Justice (3505 Coyle St, Houston, TX 77003), the NAACP Houston, TX Youth Council's Juvenile Justice Committee will host Beyond Scared Straight: A Teen Court Experience. This advocacy program seeks to expose students to the Texas Court System through a mock trial where students have exposure to a court case and are trained by law officials on the various roles in the courtroom. Students will learn how sentencing discrimination in the Criminal and Juvenile Court System presents major civil rights problems. Spots are limited to the first 50 students who register and can commit to attending the program from 9:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, March 7, 2023, by midnight.
