Center for Public Justice Fellowship - thanks efamily member Charic Daniels for sharing!

Per Charid, "This programs seems like a great opportunity for Christians wanting to work in politics but has a very short turnaround" Subject: Civitas: Application Deadline Tomorrow    Application Deadline for Civitas is Tomorrow, Friday, March 17   The Center for Public Justice is excited to announce the launch of Civitas, a Christian leadership development program aimed at forming and equipping young Congressional staff to be a hopeful, engaged, and just presence on Capitol Hill. Over the course of four months, this bi-partisan cohort of young Congressional staffers will be engaged in thought and conversation about the issues facing public servants: and what a distinctly Christian and principled pluralist approach might offer in light of those challenges and circumstances. Civitas Fellows will attend bi-weekly, hour-long facilitated seminar discussions based on assigned readings from thinkers like Abraham Kuyper, Jim Skillen, Richard Mouw, and Tim Keller. Civitas will kick off with its first meeting on Friday, March 24th, 2023. The schedule of Civitas meetings and meeting topics are as follows: 03/24 - Session 1: Christian Public Service: A Principled Pluralist Approach 04/07 - Session 2: Biblical Perspectives on the Nature and Limits of Government (What Should Government Do or Not Do?) 04/21 - Session 3: The Vast, Other Part of Our Lives: Civil Society 05/05 - Session 4: Virtues and Skills for Hill Staff in Light of Our Call to Public Service 05/19 - Session 5: Institutional Religious Freedom 06/16 - Session 6: Working Within a Party While Retaining Christian Independence 06/30 - Session 7: Politics & Idolatry 07/14 - Session 8: Working Together for the Common Good Despite Partisan and Confessional Differences   CPJ ran a similar program for Christian graduate students from 1998 to 2004. Civitas reimagines the original program’s curriculum for the unique challenges and opportunities of a public service context— particularly the public service of working on Capitol Hill.
