Cornell Vet Summer Program for high school juniors and seniors

Study animal health and medicine with faculty from Cornell's acclaimed vet school


If you dream of a career in veterinary medicine—or if you just love animals and would like to learn more about them—then there's no better place to spend your summer than in one of these Summer College programs:

Animal Science: Captive Raptor Management
July 17–August 6
Learn about the natural history and management of birds of prey and gain hands-on experience caring for and handling raptors. (Open to current juniors and seniors; 3 credits)

Animal Science: Sustainable Animal Husbandry
June 25–July 16
Work with a variety of animals while studying veterinary medicine, small and large animal husbandry, domestication, and sustainability. (Open to current sophomores, juniors, and seniors; 3 credits)

Veterinary Medicine: Conservation Medicine
July 17–August 6
During hands-on labs, lectures, field trips, and films, explore conservation medicine, biological principles, and wildlife management. (Open to current juniors and seniors; 3 credits)

Veterinary Medicine: Equine Practice
July 17–August 6
Devote mornings to lectures on the anatomy, physiology, and care of horses, and spend afternoons in hands-on labs at Cornell's Equine Park. (Open to current juniors and seniors; 3 credits)

Veterinary Medicine: Small Animal Practice
June 25–July 16
Study cats, dogs, and other domestic animals, observe approaches to common pet emergencies, and gain hands-on experience through lab exercises. (Open to current juniors and seniors; 3 credits)

The application deadline for most programs is April 29.
