FBI Houston to Host Live Twitter Chat to Promote Contract Linguists Opportunities
(HOUSTON, TX) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Houston Division is looking specifically for individuals who speak Chinese, Farsi, and Arabic. The FBI Houston Division will host a live Twitter chat to promote FBI Contract Linguist opportunities in Houston. FBI Foreign Language Program representatives will be available to answer questions live via Twitter about the qualifications required and the application process.
Contract Linguists earn an hourly rate and receive no additional benefits, as they are considered self-employed.
Duties can include, but are not limited to:
Translating written or audio materials, normally from a foreign language into English.
Interpreting during a crucial interview of a subject of an investigation or a visit from a foreign dignitary.
Providing cultural expertise relating to any matter over which the FBI has jurisdiction.
The Contract Linguist opportunity may lead to full time employment as an FBI Language Analyst.
