I was just talking to my sister and ended up looking up a man my mother told me about the first African American Governor in the US (during Reconstruction). Until 1990 we hadn't had another Black Governor! I started reading about his life - and it was EXTREMELY interesting.. Please share.. We have to carry the torch of knowledge with our kids as my mom did with me!!
