Hope you are all keeping safe and well during this pandemic. I want invite you to a FREE virtual health and wellness event that my local Jack and Jill group is having on Saturday, September 26th at 10:00 a.m. Central. We are co-hosting this event with Black Health Matters and Alnylam Pharmaceuticals.
About 1 in every 25 of African Americans carries a gene mutation that puts them at increased risk for developing an inherited, progressively debilitating heart disease called hereditary ATTR (hATTR) amyloidosis. This is an often-fatal condition that disproportionally impacts our community.
“Know Your Genetic Health History” will include a presentation by a cardiologist and a patient ambassador, information on how to get hATTR genetic testing, and a Q&A session.
