Good afternoon,
We held our first-ever virtual event on Thurs., Oct. 1, with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner as our guest and it was a resounding success!
If you attended the ‘State of BLACK Houston’ event, thank you. If you were not able to participate, we have you covered.
From singing his favorite Luther Vandross song to responding to a number of critical questions on topics impacting Black Houstonians, Mayor Turner was authentic and his remarks were rich with content.
Topics covered by Mayor Turner included: policing, mental health, evictions, gentrification, economic advancement and complete communities, City of Houston support of nonprofits, affordable housing, protests, Hurricane Harvey repairs and more.
